Sewing Hope - A New Dress... A New HOPE !
Over one million children in Malawi have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS. In the village of Ntchue, most girls only have one dress, and they wear it until it is thread bare. But with your help we can change that.
The Sewing Hope project is simple.
Step One: Gather a few Friends.
Step Three: Send them to Hope Endeavors.
Upon receiving your dresses - we will send them to our partners in Africa and Asia to be distributed to children under their care. (Africa Distribution Photos)
We also ask that you consider adding a financial contribution to help not only with the cost of shipping but also to provide an added gift through our Hope Giving projects - Buckets and Blankets of Hope and Vitamins and Vitameal.
Buckets and Blankets of Hope
Buckets and Blankets of Hope is another way we can showed God’s love. These buckets are distributed to families caring for HIV/AIDs patients through home visits. These buckets are filled with very basic necessities, such as cooking oil, rice, corn, toothbrushes, soap and towels. We have seen first hand the testimony of a young boy with HIV who was once very ill but through SOM’s home visit program he received life restoring ARV’s, medicinal herbs and nutrient enriched food. Each Bucket of Hope can be provided for $20 and for just $10 more, a blanket can be included to bring comfort and warmth to an ill child.(Buckets of Hope Photos) (Blankets of Hope Photos)
Vitamins and Vita Meal Project
For as little as $15, you can provide a child with a month supply of life restoring VitaMeal. Vita Meal is a nutrient enhanced porridge that helps not only satisfy their hunger but also boosts their immune systems. That is not all, through Save Orphans Ministries Community-based Child Care, these children are also receiving care, bible lessons and song! We will also be shipping bulk quantities of vitamins - childrens and adult – as part of our Shipping Container Project.
** SPECIAL PROJECT** Shipping Container Project:
Our 40 foot shipping container is on the ground in Michigan and we are filling it with much needed supplies to be sent to Save Orphans Ministries. This container will be filled with the following:
-
Bikes to provide transportation for the SOM worker’s,
-
Books for the Community-based care centers,
-
Tools, Computers and Sewing Machines for the vocational school,
-
Medicines and Medical Equipment for the HIV/AIDS Therapy and Orphan Care Center.
-
Little Dresses for the girls of Malawi and much, much more.
This container will also deliver Vitamins, Blankets and Hope Packs to Malawi. For more information on these project, check out our Hope Giving Projects.
We are currently seeking donations and financial contributions to help fill this container to its brim.
Remember - we are not just Sewing and Sending dresses - we are sowing HOPE!
Hope Endeavors projects bring hope to those in need in very tangible ways. As we delivered the Buckets of Hope during our home-visits, person after person expressed their gratitude for the Bucket and also expressed the need for food and blankets. So we know that your support of these projects are of vital importance. Be inspired with us to be the hands and feet of Christ - Thank you for your support of these projects and the on-going ministry of Save Orphans Ministries.
