Aeta Children's Home - Zambales Philippines

The Aeta Children's Home started as a ministry project of To God be the Glory Community Chapel, the Bible Study and Worship Center in July, 1988. Pastor Wilson and his wife Cora visited a tribal village called Tabuyen at Barangay Rabanes, San Marcelino, Zambales to conduct a Bible study among the tribal people called Aetas or Negritoes. During that Bible study, they noticed the Aeta children roaming around, dirty, sickly, and malnourished. They were about 6 to 10 years old but they were not going to school. At that very moment, the Lord Jesus touched their hearts and gave them a burden to help these Aeta children. With the permission of their parents, they brought home 5 of these sickly, malnourished, and illiterate Aeta children. They gave them temporary care and shelter. Clothe and fed them, enrolled them at a nearby public school, and taught them about the Lord Jesus and His Word, the Bible. Their aim was to help them in their physical, educational, and spiritual development. Like all children, they have the God-given right to become literate, healthy, and God-fearing citizens of their community.

After 6 months, they brought these 5 children back to their village at Tabuyen. Upon seeing their improvements physically, educationally, and spiritually, the other Aeta children in that village wanted to come and stay. Thus, the 5 children became 10. By that time, they did not have the needed funds and facilities to accommodate these children. However, with the heavy burden and desire to help them, and with much faith in the Lord's grace, mercy, and provisions, they accepted these 10 children. Much to our surprise and amazement, the Lord started to bless this humble work. More and more children came. The eruption of Mt. Pinatubo on June 15, 1991 and the subsequent mudflows or lahar have not hindered this work. The Lord has brought them to the Resettlement Site at Balaybay, Castillejos, Zambales. In 1993, more Aeta children from the different Aeta villages near Mt. Pinatubo in Zambales came taking refuge, care, and shelter in the Children's Home. In 1997, the Lord was so good and gracious that he provided them a school of their own - the To God be the Glory Christian Academy offering pre-school and elementary education for the indigent Aeta children. Like the Children's Home, this school operates by God's grace, mercy, and provisions. It is free, that is, they do not charge any fee from the students whatsoever. Because of its expansion, this Aeta Children's Home which started as a Church ministry project was licensed by the DSWD as a child-caring institution on June 30, 2000.

Today there are 116 Aeta children of different ages staying at the Children's Home and attending the To God be the Glory Christian Academy. (photos)

In 2008, the Christian Medical Clinic was constructed and continue to help the Aetas in their medical needs. (photos)

The School of the Great Commission has 10 students mostly Aetas. Its goal is to disciple and raise up committed Christian workers who will go and plant churches in remote Aeta villages.

To God be the Glory Community Chapel celebrated our 21st founding anniversary July 19, 2009 - joining hands in praising and thanking God for His faithfulness. It was a simple but solemn celebration. The message from the Lord was “Reaching up, Reaching out”. We were all challenged not to lose heart, but to go and share the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in season and out of season. This is the greatest good that we can do for the people around us for the glory of God.

Today, there are 8 Outreach Churches and their associated Pastors – Please pray for the following outreaches and their pastors:
