Dear Friends at Hope Endeavors,
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world…” John 16:33
Many of our people have lost not just material possessions but also their loved ones during the recent calamities that happened to us. Many of them are now suffering because of the floods, landslides, leptospirosis (a sickness caused by the urine of rats in the flood waters) and other sicknesses that resulted from the strong rains and typhoons that just visited our country. Many are heartbroken and in trauma because of the deaths of their loved ones. We have been from evacuation centers sharing the love of Christ to the affected people not just in words but most especially in good deeds and actions. We have conducted medical missions, feeding, and relief distributions to the Aetas and non-Aeta people who were victims of the said calamities. Through these benevolent missions, we have shared the Gospel of salvation and many received Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. Many have found hope and comfort as they put their trust in the Lord. Praise the Lord! (Photos)
The ACH has just received 2 more additional Aeta children. One is Samuel who is mentally retarded, and Bernalyn who is severely malnourished. Sarah, the Aeta girl who is autistic, is still here with us. Our staff take turns in taking good care of these handicapped children. Please continue to pray for them and their needs in the ACH, as well as our staff who are taking good care of them. Thank you.
Daniel Mangatuliran, the Aeta young man with severe tuberculosis, is still in the isolation room of the medical clinic. We contnue to help and take care of him. He has improved a lot. When he first arrived 5 months ago, he was only 24 kilos. Now, he has gained weight up to 30 kilos. Most of all, Daniel is now attending the SGC, our Bible school. He is so thankful to the Lord for the new lease on life that the Lord has given him. He now aspires to serve the Lord someday in a fulltime ministry. Please pray for him.
Romy Mendoza, the Aeta young man who was healed by the Lord from severe tuberculosis, is now one of our Aeta workers. He is now assigned as pastor of an Aeta church at the village of Itanglew. He is very thankful to the Lord for his healing and the opportunity to serve Him in a fulltime ministry.
We have a new Aeta pastor. His name is Henry Cabalic. He and his wife Lorena are now pastoring an Aeta church in Iba, Zambales. The name of their church is Olpoy Christian Church. Please pray for them as they share God’s love to the Aeta people.
Praise God for the new roofs of the preschool, administration building, kitchen and dining hall of the ACH. The children and staff now have better and more conducive facilities to use. Our problem with termites is now eliminated (except the pastoral house which also needs roof repair).
Please pray for the following:
1. After the relief, please pray for the rehabilitation of our people who have lost their livelihood and jobs because of the recent calamities. May our Lord provide them job and livelihood so that they can start life all over again.
2. Please pray also that our Lord will heal the trauma and broken hearts of those who lost their loved ones in the said calamities. Please pray for the widows and orphans, that our Lord be merciful to them and comfort them in these times of great sorrows.
3. Please pray for the Aeta Children’s Home and Christian School. May our Lord continue to protect and provide the needs of these Aeta children and most of all, please pray that our Lord will raise them up to be His servants someday.
4. Please pray for our staff as they work hard in taking care and teaching these children in the ways of the Lord. May our Lord give them extra wisdom and strength, love and patience in taking care of the kids.
5. Please pray for our son Immanuel as he is now reviewing and preparing for the medical board exam in February, 2010. May our Lord give him success.
6. Please pray for our daughter Praise as she is now in her last semester of masteral studies. Please pray that our Lord will help her finish and successfully defend her thesis.
7. Please pray for Bernalyn, the sick and malnourished Aeta girl. We brought her to the hospital and she is still there. Please pray for her healing not just physically but also mentally and emotionally. She was neglected by her parents and we found her in the village under the care of relatives.
8. Please pray for the repair of the roof of the pastoral house which is also being eaten by termites. This is the last building in the compound which needs repair.
9. Please pray for us. We are now back to our fulltime duties in the ministry. Cora as the director of the ACH, and me as the school principal, administrator, and senior pastor overseeing all the churches and ministries (including the Bible school and medical clinic) which our Lord has entrusted to our care. May we always remember that it is not by our might, nor by our power, but by the power of the Holy Spirit alone that we can do or fulfill all these responsibilities.
Thank you very much. Life is hard here but through your prayers and support, we know we shall overcome. God bless and reward you richly for all your labors of love for the saints. Heb. 6:10.
Anticipating His imminent return,
Wilson and Cora Ladringan
